Biography:

Gil Katz was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. He received a B.Sc. in both electrical engineering (honors) and physics (honors) from the Technion in Haifa, Israel. In 2013 Gil submitted his M.Sc. thesis, "On Layered Transmission in Clustered Cooperative Cellular Architectures", also at the Technion. Since September 2013 Gil was pursuing a PhD at Centrale-Supélec, on the subject of "Interactive Communication for Distributed Computing". The focus of the thesis was on problems in distributed Hypothesis Testing, under a variety of different communication constraints. He was supervised by Prof. Mérouane Debbah, Prof. Romain Couillet and Prof. Pablo Piantanida.

Key interests: Information Theory, Data Science, Machine Learning
